G'day! 

This one is a bit special, and a project we've been absolutely itching to share with you! Third Drawer Down are thrilled to introduce their latest collaboration with Arts Project Australia, AUSTRALIANA. The collaboration launched at the NGV design store last night, it's exclusive home for the next six weeks, and will be available at Third Drawer Down on March 17th and following online and nation wide from August 2nd. 

Our dear friends at Arts Project Australia were once again a pleasure to work with, and we feel so lucky to have begun a collection that will evolve with it's artists and become a part of our permanent collections. 

We couldn't be more excited to share some photos with you from our visit to Arts Project earlier this month, but first, a little story. 

It was a sunny Melbourne day, the flies were sticky and the wind was warm.
It was the start of another year at Third Drawer Down Studio, and a time to re-store and reflect.  
Kelly had noticed the lack of iconic Australian gifts for the many tourists desperate for something more than a fluffy koala.

"Oi! You know what we need?" said Kelly
"We need to collaborate with Australian artists on interesting souvenirs, with a story. Ya know?"
"Strewth Kelly, you're right!" said Abigail

Abigail had been collaborating with Arts Project Australia for many years, and knew in her heart that this was the perfect project to bring to life with them.

Arts Project Australia thought the idea was beaut, but why stop there?
"Fair dinkum, this should be something we take to the National Gallery of Victoria." thought Abigail.
And we did.

The National Gallery of Victoria were thrilled to be involved.
The project begun.    
And the land down under got a little brighter.
