About the Artist:
Louise Bourgeois was a French-born American artist whose work helped inform the emerging feminist art movement and continues to influence feminist-inspired work and installation art. Her work is emotionally aggressive yet witty, calm yet determined. She focused on examining the human body and its need for protection in a frightening world. Third Drawer Down first collaborated with her in 2008 for a retrospective at the Tate Museum. We have continued an on-going relationship with her trust, The Easton Foundation to produce a series of objects inspired by her work, available here.
