Johanson's paintings, drawings and sculptural installations explore the human condition with wit, humour and sincerity. Using salvaged materials, the artist often comments on humankind's relationship with the natural environment; resulting in meditative yet sometimes confronting imagery.
Johanson's work has been exhibited at many international shows, including the Istanbul Biennial, the SITE Santa Fe Biennial and the Whitney Biennial.
