| Kelie Bowman hails from Florida and lives and works in Brooklyn, far away from her beloved beaches and Grouper fish sandwiches. She draws and paints a world where evil-doers get what they deserve, lovers battle out their differences by tree-fencing, and back-stabbing friends get smoked out by house-head heroines. The idea of home is on her mind, as are her achey-breaky heart and the tender and fragile moments of our existence. Subtle humor and violence creep into her soft and warm palate, giving a razor sharp edge to the work's gentle nature. Kelie is co-founder of Cinders, enjoys sushi, cheesy romantic comedies, and swimming. She received a BFA at the University of Florida, was a founding member of the Cloud Seeding Circus, and gave Bike Tours in Munich, Germany one summer. |
